Our Story : Part 4

We set a date, July 27th, 2013

I picked out a dress.

What a blessing, a couple from my church gave me the money for my dress, even before we were engaged.

We decided on the decorations.

Truthfully I had decided on these long ago.

We picked a location- an outdoor wedding
We moved our location- due to rain

We chose our bridal party

We decided on dinner.

We asked our pastor to marry us.

And then...

We tied the knot

And lived happily ever after...

Our Story: Part 3

October 27th 2012: Up to that point in my life, no other day had made me that nervous. He was driving up from phoenix to meet me in Prescott. There was so many emotions going through me- fear, anxiousness anticipation, excitement. I cant even remember how many different outfits I tried that morning. HaHa We had a wonderful day together. We spent 7 hours together. I was still nervous, but couldn't wait to see him again and to see where this would lead. He came back up two days later.  Its a two hour drive from phoenix, and he was only able to stay for two hours, but he came up anyways. He took me to dinner and met my parents. My mom said if he was willing to do that, he was a keeper. So, on November 12th we officially started dating. He asked me that weekend to go to Washington with him for Christmas and to meet his family. We enjoyed an amazing week with his family. It was such a blessing meeting them. They are amazing and made me feel so welcome. It is such a blessing to be welcomed into a family such as this. A couple months later on February 18, 2013 he proposed. I moved back to phoenix to be closer. It's easier, after all, to plan a wedding when you're in the same town. I moved in with some awesome family friends, and over the next five month's, we planned our wedding. It was a dream come true. I was finally planning my wedding. I was finally getting married. I was finally going to be a wife- to the most amazing guy I have ever met. Being a wife has always been my dream. I had been preparing to be a wife for so long.

Next time: The wedding

Our Story: Part 2

The first guy I was matched with looked like a great guy. His profile matched everything that I wanted in a husband. Everything I had been praying for. So initially I was pretty excited. He sent me a basic message and I responded, and then nothing. For months there was no message, no response from him. I was discouraged because I honestly felt like he was the one. Crazy I know but God continued to work in my heart, I continued to pray for whoever God had for me. I talked to other matches, actually talking to them but never feeling the way I did about my first match and I hadn't even talked to him. Then September rolled around. I was pretty discouraged because there wasn't much time left in the year.God said this was the year but, I started to think maybe this wasn't the year. Doubts poured in.Frustration took control. I had to constantly pour out my heart to God, giving Him control over this and every area of my life. Then, about the middle of September, my first match and I started talking. This is what I had been waiting for all those months. At first, it was just through email, then on the phone. That first phone call, I was so nervous. All I could think was,"what if the conversation didn't go well ?, what if we didn't hit it off ?" If it didn't go well then I wasn't sure what to do because I still felt like God was telling me this was the one. Our first phone call lasted about an hour.It was a wonderful conversation. That was in the beginning of October. We wouldn't actually meet face to face until October 27th.

Until next time...

In Christ, Sarah

Scripture I find comfort in:

Proverbs 3:4&5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Our Story: Part 1

So in June of 2012 I posted about waiting. Waiting for my husband has been one of the longest and most frustrating times in my life. Ever since I was a little girl I imagined myself being a wife and mother. That was and still is my heart's desire. God has made me (us) to have a desire for home and family. That is what God has designed us for. To be a helpmate to our husbands. No matter what this world says, it is truly a high calling from God.
Here is where that story begins. In 2012, God spoke to me three times confirming that I would meet my husband in 2012. I can honestly say that I was not as patient as I should have been. I asked the Lord so many times why He was making me wait this long. I didn't understand. I was so ready to be a wife. He was speaking to my heart ,continually saying " wait on Me, wait patiently on the Lord." Well at times I didn't want to be patient. But all I could do was prepare my heart for my husband, to wait for him to enter my life in the Lord's timing. So in march of 2012 my mom and pastor suggested I join an online, dating website. (This isn't a plug for online dating, Its just our story.) My first thoughts were: 'Can you really meet a good person?' " Is it safe?" These fears are what kept me from joining in the past. But the fact that my mom was suggesting it made me want to join. I had talked to my pastor about it and he told me not to put God in a box. So in march I took God out of the box I had put Him in and joined, not knowing if this was the way He was going to bring my husband into my life. I was matched with several different guys. I was nervous and excited because I couldn't help but think one of these guys could be the one.
